Create the Ultimate Cosy Christmas Corner with Bean Bags
Dec 05, 2024

It’s time. Christmas is just around the corner, and we’re officially allowed to get excited. Because while the festive season is a lot about glitz and glamour, it’s also about getting your cosy on. And that’s what we like to do best! So, if you’re looking for some tips on how to create the perfect winter hibernation zone, we have a few pointers to share with you. And they involve bean bags!

How to Create a Cosy Christmas Corner with Bean Bags

Location, location, location

Before you even think about seating, you have to find the right spot. If you’re looking for cosiness, somewhere near a wood burner, fireplace, or heater, is the optimal choice. A corner is preferable, ideally away from any thoroughfares, to ensure minimum disturbance. And if you can choose a spot with a view – whether of the Christmas tree, or near a window, all the better!

Choose the perfect bean bag seats

Bean bag choice can be pretty personal. It depends on how you like to sit, the space you have, and what you want to do in your cosy corner. High back bean bag chairs are probably the most versatile. Especially if you also invest in a pouffe, so you can put your feet up. But then, a fluffy faux fur bean bag, like the Classic or Sabine delivers the ultimate cosy factor. And if you’ve got the space, a giant Mega Mammoth bean bag sofa takes some beating on the relaxation front. Cosy loves company? Then downsize and invest in a cluster of bean bags, not forgetting to adding dedicated bean bags for the kids.

Snuggle it up

No cosy corner worth its name can be complete without a blanket or two. You might want to go decorative, with a festive theme. Or select a weighted fleece blanket for the optimum in comfort. Add in some cushions or a hug pillow (we’d go for the hug!), and things will start to look pretty inviting! But don’t stop there. Think about your feet, and add a fluffy rug to give comfort to your tootsies.

Look at your lighting

Overhead ambient lighting just won’t do in a cosy corner. You need instead, the soft, warm glow of a lamp. Add in a secondary reading lamp, if that’s what you’re using the space for. Then add to the aesthetic with some fairy lights along the wall, in a glass jar, or along the windowsill.

Bring in a side table

If you’re looking for proper indulgence, food and drink has to be involved. And if you’re eating and drinking, you need somewhere to rest your mince pies, selection box, and hot chocolate. So, a small side table (which you could also rest your reading lamp on) will be invaluable. Don’t have space? Put a tray on your footstool, it’ll do the job beautifully!

Don’t forget the decorations

It’s a cosy Christmas corner we’re making, so unless you’re settled within full view of the Christmas tree, bring in a few festive touches. Maybe a tabletop Christmas tree. Maybe an illuminated Christmas ornament. Anything that makes you happy.

Entertainment

What you use your cosy corner for this Christmas is down to you. But you’ll probably want some form of entertainment. So, bring some books, your tablet, a charger for your phone, or whatever else you need. Cosiness is part and parcel of Christmas for us. Once the parties have been had and the gifts exchanged, there’s nothing better than snuggling down in your own little cosy haven. And hopefully, if you follow these tips, you’ll now have one of your very own!
